Quality of Service (QoS)

What is QoS - Quality of Service?

Quality of Service (QoS) is a set of technologies used in telecommunications networks for managing and prioritizing data traffic, in order to ensure optimal performance for certain applications and users. The purpose of QoS is to guarantee a certain level of connection quality, depending on the type of data traffic and user requirements.

The main aspects managed through QoS include:

  • Bandwidth – Network resources are allocated so that critical applications, such as videoconferencing and VoIP calls, have sufficient bandwidth for efficient operation.
  • Latency – Represents the delay between sending and receiving data; QoS minimizes this latency for applications that require fast response time, such as online games and instant messaging.
  • Jitter – Refers to variations in the delivery of data packets. QoS ensures uniform transmission, essential for video and audio streaming.
  • Data loss – QoS optimizes the management of packets to reduce the risk of their loss, an essential aspect for applications sensitive to data loss, such as video streaming.
  • Data QoS – The actual data transfer speed may vary depending on external factors, including location, radio coverage, network congestion and signal quality. The maximum speed is limited according to the AMBR (Aggregated Maximum Bit Rate) settings, which have default values of 350 Mbps for download and 100 Mbps for upload.

Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets the standards for using eSIModo services and prohibits abusive, illegal or fraudulent activities.

By using eSIModo services, users accept and agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy.

The use of the services is allowed only for legal purposes. The following are prohibited:

  • Using the services for online fraud (e.g. phishing, scams).
  • Causing malfunctions to networks or communications devices.
  • Monitoring or intercepting data traffic without authorization.
  • Illegal access to IT systems.
  • Collecting personal information without consent.
  • Publishing offensive, violent, fraudulent or illegal content.
  • Distributing copyright-protected materials without permission.
  • Downloading or uploading large files (over 300 MB).
  • Extended data streaming to TCP or UDP applications.
  • Using an eSIM as a data router for multiple devices.
  • Using P2P networks (e.g. BitTorrent, uTorrent).

Violation of this policy may lead to the suspension or immediate termination of services, without prior notice.

Big Online Dreams SRL reserves the right to modify this policy and to take legal action against those who violate the rules.
