eSIM installation guide on Android

Find out the steps to follow to install an eSIM on an Android phone. First, check if your model is in the list of compatible phones. Check here

1. Adding eSIM to the phone

Required: Wi-Fi connection, mobile data turned on, the phone must NOT be network locked

On the page of the purchased eSIM you press the "Install with 1 click" button and follow the instructions or (if the button is not available) you open the phone camera directly, scan the available QR code, press the Add eSIM button and follow the process.

An eSIM can be installed only once and cannot be moved to another phone.

At the end, the eSIM can be found at Settings -> Connections -> SIM Manager. We recommend renaming it to eSIModo to recognize it more easily.

Possible errors:

  • Can't download SIM = you have no WiFi connection / mobile data is turned off
  • Can't add eSIM = you have no WiFi connection / mobile data is turned off
  • Invalid profile = The eSIM has already been used
  • Check QR code = The eSIM has already been used
  • Maximum number of eSIMs reached = you have too many eSIMs installed
  • Device locked/Network locked = you have an incompatible phone (network locked)

We recommend this procedure 1 day before travel.

2. Start using eSIM

Required: to already be in the country/region for which you bought the eSIM.

1. Settings -> Connections -> SIM Manager
Our eSIM is actively checked

2. Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks
Data Roaming is activated for our eSIM

3. Settings -> Connections -> SIM Manager -> Preferred SIMs
For Mobile Data our eSIM is selected.

You are connected to the internet

If you are connected to the network (you have signal) but the internet is not working.
For some phone models, manual APN configuration is required. Go to Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names and add the APN details visible on the purchased eSIM page.

That's all. Pleasant use!

At the end of the trip delete the eSIM from Settings -> Connections -> SIM Manager.
