Procedure in short

So that you are not scared by all the steps below, the summary of using an eSIM on Android would be the following.

1. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks > SIM Management > Add eSIM
2. Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code received by email.
3. Confirm and install.
4. When you arrive at your destination, turn on mobile data for the eSIM and disable it for the regular SIM.
5. Make sure the roaming option is enabled on your phone for the eSIM.
6. Enjoy fast and affordable internet.
7. * in some cases (if there is signal but the internet is not working) it is necessary to manually set the APN (you can find it on the eSIM page)

Before the trip (immediately after purchase)

For this process, you need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network and have access to the QR code received after purchasing from eSIModo
What we will do:

• We add and configure the eSIM on the phone.
• We deactivate it until the start of the trip.
• The operation of the existing SIM is not impacted in any way.

The validity period is not impacted by the moment of adding the eSIM to the phone.

The Beginning of the Journey

The process must be done as soon as you have landed / are at the border in the destination country.
What we will do:

• We activate the eSIM (validity starts to flow).
• We configure the phone to use only the internet from the eSIM.
• We stop using the internet from the classic SIM and deactivate roaming (to avoid extra costs).
• We activate roaming on the eSIM (necessary to automatically switch to the network with the best signal in the area).

The end of the journey

The process must be done immediately once you have returned to the country you left from.
What we will do:

• We set up the phone to use the internet from the classic SIM again.
• We delete the eSIM from the phone.
